Directions

From Hazyview
Follow the R40 towards Klaserie. Continue through Klaserie, and about 6 km before you reach Hoedspruit itself, turn right at the signboard towards Eastgate Airport / Thornybush Reserve / Timbavati Reserve (Argyle Road).

Go past the airport, and continue along this road. Look out for Josmacs Bush Pub on your right hand side. In front of you now will be the re-building of the new Timbavati Gate.

Right opposite Josmacs and to the left of the building is the turn off left (dirt road) for the Klaserie Game Reserve and the Incheni Gate. Take this turn off left and drive straight until you come to the Incheni Gate. Do not turn off anywhere. For self-drive visitors, there is a vehicle entrance cash fee of R60 per vehicle (subject to change), which is payable at the Incheni Gate.

Once inside the gate, turn immediately right (i.e. like after 5-10 metres after entering the gate and before the little hut) and then follow that road with the fence on your right.

The road will fork into 3, and the fence line will end at the same time, take the middle road and follow the signs to Africa on Foot Camp. Allow about 30-40 minutes to drive from the gate to the lodge.

Do not get out of your car until you reach the lodge. You may see some wildlife on your way - if you do, slow down and maintain a good distance. Do not drive off-road in any circumstances.

From Eastgate / Hoedspruit Airport
Turn left and proceed along this road until you reach the main control gate. There is a vehicle entrance cash fee of R120 per vehicle (subject to change), which is payable at the gate.

Once inside the gate, follow the signs to the lodge. Allow about 30-40 minutes to drive from the gate to the lodge.

From Kruger National Park / Orpen Gate
Exit the Park, and continue along the R531. Turn right onto the R40 towards Klaserie, and follow the directions from Hazyview as above.

From Johannesburg / Pretoria
Take the N12 or N4 highway to Witbank / eMalahleni (from Johannesburg Airport, follow signs to Boksburg to find the N12). Follow the N4 highway past Middleburg (Toll Plaza), Belfast and Machadodorp (Toll Plaza). Follow the Schoemanskloof option on the N4 and then take the R36 to Lydenburg / Mashishing.

Follow the R36 to Ohrigstad, go through the Strydom Tunnel and take the R527 to Hoedspruit. Turn right onto the R40 towards Klaserie, and continue along this road until you see the turning off to the left for Eastgate Airport. Turn left here and follow the directions from the airport as above.
