Safari Holiday Ideas - ITINERARY-01932
Safari and Beach Combo
Summary of the Route
For anyone wanting to combine some of the best game viewing that South Africa can offer with a relaxing time afterwards on a pristine white sandy beach, sipping cocktails while watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean, this is the perfect holiday combo.
The real advantage of this trip, however, is that there are direct flights from the Kruger Park to Vilanculos in Mozambique, so the journey really could not be easier! The flights depart in the morning on a Tuesday, Friday and Saturday ONLY.
You can leave your safari lodge on the morning of your flight, but this would mean missing your last game drive, so ideally you would spend the night before you fly at a guest house in Hazyview, which is then only about 45 minutes from the airport - and this means you don't have to miss any exciting game drive.
At the end of your holiday, you can fly directly back to Johannesburg to connect with your international flight home.
We can tailor this trip to meet your exact requirements, however there are a few example itineraries listed below which will give you a good idea of the properties and costs.

Kruger Safari
The safari lodges in the private game reserves which make up the Greater Kruger Park area offer possibly the best Big 5 game viewing opportunities to be found on the continent, and provide a truly unforgettable wildlife experience.
Lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo are all regular sightings.
Aside from the excellent standard of accommodation, food, and service in the lodges, the main attraction for wildlife enthusiasts is that the guides and trackers who take guests out on their morning and evening game drives are permitted to take their vehicles off-road in order to get closer to the wildlife.
If you want to get within a couple of metres of lions or leopards in the wild, then these are the places to stay - and you can be certain that your safari will be utterly magical.
One night in Hazyview
Ideally, after your safari, you will spend just one night in Hazyview, which will not only give you time to relax a bit after the safari, but it will also mean that you can leave after breakfast and get to the airport in plenty of time to check in for your flight to Mozambique.
Mozambique
The Bazaruto Archipelago is one of the most beautiful places on the African continent, complete with azure waters, sandy beaches, palm trees, and pristine coral reefs with tropical fish.
Declared a National Park in 1971, the archipelago boasts among its wildlife 180 species of birds, endemic butterflies, Suni antelope and freshwater crocodile. The protected reefs and beaches support dolphin, dugong, game fish, giant lobster and several species of marine turtle.
The crystal clear waters are perfect for scuba diving and snorkelling, as the marine life is simply spectacular.
Back on shore there is plenty to do: horse riding, 4x4 guided trips around the island, hiking, sand boarding, and of course the all important lying in a hammock and soaking up the atmosphere.
Getting Home
You can either fly directly back to Johannesburg to connect with your international flight home, or you can choose to extend your holiday by a few extra nights, and spend these either in Johannesburg to explore the city or you could take another flight down to Cape Town.
