New Airport for Durban

The new airport for Durban (the King Shaka International Airport – or KSIR for short) has just announced that it will be fully operational from 1st May 2010.

All flights into Durban will go through here as of this date.

The current airport will be closed on the 30th April once the last flight into here has safely landed.

Closure of SAA Arrivals Lounge at Johannesburg Airport

The South African Airways  arrivals lounge at Johannesburg OR Tambo International has been temporarily closed due to construction.  The departure lounge is open as normal.Business-class, Platinum and Gold Voyager members will be accommodated at the Airport Sun InterContinental Hotel’s exclusive Premier Club.  Features of the lounge include full hot breakfast, reading rooms and business facilities.

SAA staff will be located at the arrivals lounge to direct guests to the hotel.
