Sun City

Introduction

Surrounded by the rugged African bushveld, in the heart of an ancient volcano, Sun City is an internationally acclaimed resort, with a unique heartbeat of its own.

Family Fun at Sun CityTruly unlike any other resort destination in the world, Sun City offers a choice of 4 unique hotels to suit every taste, style and budget.

Oppertunities are endless at the Sun City Hotels. Whether its romance, pure luxury or family fun, you will find it in one of the hotels here.

Breaking News: The World's Strongest Man returns to Sun City for the first time since 2000.

A Kingdom of Pleasure

Sun City has been likened to Las Vegas by many people. Although a somewhat scaled-down version, it is easy to see where the comparison came from ... it is a mini Vegas in South Africa!

Sun CityThe Palace of the Lost City, overlooking the Sun City complex and making an imposing outline against the sky, is every bit as over the top as Cesar's Palace, and the other hotels do not fall short on luxury.

Casinos, slot machines, beaches and wave machines, trembling earthquake bridge, luxury rooms... not to mention hot summer days ... these all play their own part in making Sun City one of the top holiday destinations in South Africa today.

Only 2 hours from Johannesburg

Sun City is only a 2 hour drive away from Johannesburg, which does make it an ideal place to spend the last 2 nights of a holiday prior to flying home from Johannesburg's International Airport.

The Palace HotelIt doesn't just attract overseas tourists, though.  The complex is also an extremely popular weekend destination for many South Africans, especially those who live in Johannesburg.

Cost of Entry

The cost of entry for a day visitor is R80 each (subject to change), but you are given a 'Sun Chip' which can be exchanged in the complex for anything apart from cash.

If you are staying in one of the Sun City hotels overnight or for longer, then the entry is less.

For day visitors, it costs extra to go into the Valley of the Waves (another R80 per person), but this is a great example of what you can use your Sun Chip for as part payment towards the entry cost.
